The beginnings

I’m excited to share a special moment from my journey as an artist. This is me with Georgia, the Bengal tiger, my first community project in Fuquay-Varina in 2016! 🎨🐅

Collaborating with my sponsor, who is now the mayor of Fuquay Varina, we brought Georgia to life as a vibrant symbol for our town. Now she is owned by Zaxby's Restaurant and proudly watches over the condiments, reminding us of our beautiful town.

From this project, I developed a real love for our town and community. I’ve evolved into a passionate plein air artist and Live event painter capturing the beauty of life and life's moments big and small. I’m grateful for the support I’ve received from my husband , children, extended family and friends along the way. I look forward to continuing to create meaningful art in our community!

The Inspiration Behind My Artwork

**The Inspiration Behind My Artwork**

Welcome to my first blog post! After having my website for several years, I'm excited to finally share more about my journey, inspirations, and the heart behind my art.

My name is Diane K, and my journey as an artist has been anything but conventional. Born and raised in New Jersey, I spent most of my 20's there before moving to the Raleigh area of North Carolina in 1997. This move marked the beginning of a new chapter, both in life and in art. In NC, I had my daughter and son. It wasnt before long before I was very involved in organizing crafts for their events.

I discovered my passion for painting after a significant life event, and since then, my art has become a way for me to connect. My curiosity and delight in people and locations fuel my creativity and drive my artistic expression. Each piece I create is a reflection of my joy and hope.

**People and Places: The Heart of My Inspiration**

I find endless inspiration in ordinary scenes. From busy downtown areas and beaches to portraits and adorable animals. Each subject offers a unique story waiting to be told on canvas. My faith plays a significant role in the way I view the world, inspiring me to share the hope and joy I see through my work.

One of my favorite ways to capture this inspiration is through plein air painting. There's something magical about being outside, truly experiencing the scene I'm painting and getting the truest sense of the light and colors. The sights, sounds, and colors are alive, allowing me to express the essence of the moment. Plein air painting helps me connect deeply with my subjects.

**Wedding Painting: Capturing Special Moments**

In addition to my love for plein air painting, I also specialize in event/wedding painting services. With weddings, there's something incredibly special about experiencing the joy and emotion of a couple's big day and expressing that on canvas. Each wedding is unique, and my goal is to create a lasting memory that expresses the love and happiness shared on that special occasion.

**Art as a Journey**

Art, for me, is not just about the final product but the journey it takes to get there. My journey as an artist has been deeply influenced by my personal experiences and the places I've called home. From New Jersey to North Carolina, each location has left its mark on my work, shaping the artist I am today. Living in NJ has given me an appreciation for urban scenes, industrial and waterfront scenes. Living in NC has given me a love for quaint downtown areas.

**Looking Ahead**

As I continue to explore and grow, I'm excited to share more of my journey with you. This blog will be a space for me to connect, share insights into my process, and highlight the inspirations behind my work. I hope that through my art and stories, you'll find a bit of the joy and beauty that inspires me.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about how to purchase original artwork or commission me for an event or wedding, feel free to reach out at [email protected] .

Diane K
